2013 brings a new album and, of course, another identity for Adanowsky. The man formerly known as El Ídolo and El Amador now has a new persona: Ada. Wait, what?!

You see, Adán Jodorowsky was originally named Ada Jorodowsky because a set of Tarot cards told his mom that he was going to be born female (the Jodorowsky family is quite…different). That obviously didn’t happen and Mrs. Jodorowsky fixed her mistake by adding a letter at the end of his name.

For his next, uh, personality, Adanowsky has channeled this funky, funky past as well as his inner Ziggy Stardust (minus the Spiders From Mars). Ada is a sexually ambiguous character, both man and woman, or, perhaps, neither, who writes disco/pop tunes (with some help from the Polycarpe Brothers). The album is due out in March.

Listen to the first single from the album here.

The Growler's headlined two nights at The Observatory in Orange County, marking the second annual Beach Goth Weekend.  An endless parade of costumed kids flooded the two performance rooms while Orange County's best fulfilled the night's theme with dark, surf inspired sets.  Burger Records' Gap Dream and Cosmonauts played as well as Cherry Glazer, The Abigails and The Garden among others.

The band will be back in California for more dates in December following their current European tour.

The Entrance Band's long awaited new album is finaly due out November 19th on Beyond Beyond is Beyond.  Since 2009's self titled album on Ecstactic Peace! the band has been growing in legend and a few eps have been circulating but there hasn't been a full fledged new album and tour in some time.  The new album, Face the Sun, explores the struggles and transformations this trio has experienced in a very intimate yet powerful set of songs.  All the spit but none of the polish and a live show that earned them LA Weekly's "Best Rock Band 2013."  Listen to "Fire Eyes" from the new album below

Everloving headed back to Micheltorena Elementary School in Silverlake last weekend to participate in the 2nd official ILMLA.  Hosted by Iam Sound the event brings out the best local indie labels to show their wares to mobs of diehard music fans, vinyl collectors, soccer moms and people just waiting for their drugs to kick in.

The event is growing slow but surely in an effort to match the popularity of London's version of the label market.  The idea was launched there with the heads of some of the most influential indie labels hanging out with the fans and celbrating great music.  With the growing popularity of Record Store Day this event is sure to become a regularly anticipated event.  Thanks to all who participated and came by to support Everloving.
